How to care for your candles

LIGHTING YOUR CANDLE -

It may take a couple of goes lighting your wood wick candle. Ensure the whole wick is alight before removing the lighter, this may take up to 10 seconds.

BURN TIME -

To prevent tunnelling and to create candle memory the first time you light your soy candle, allow the wax to melt all of the way to the edge of the glass before putting it out. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. If you see your candle flame becoming too big, it's time to put out your candle, allow the wax to cool and trim the wick before lighting again.

TRIM WICK BEFORE EVERY USE -

Always trim the wick before relighting. Trimming the wick will help your candle stay alight, burn evenly and longer. It also helps to prevent any sooting or black smoke from having an overly long wick. Trim the wick with one of our wick trimmers or simply, pinch the charcoal off the wick with a tissue. It's important to do this before each burn.

AVOID DRAUGHTS -

Candles burn best in still air but if you can't avoid draughts, turn the candle periodically to avoid uneven burning and possible candle collapse. A candle in a draught may also start to smoke.

CANDLE STORAGE -

Candles are sensitive to temperature and light, Fragrances with a vanilla content may yellow if exposed to sunlight or fluorescent light, this is normal and does not affect the burning of the candle. Store your candles in an upright position.

PUTTING CANDLES OUT -

It is always best to use a Candle Dipper or Candle Snuffer rather than blowing out to prevent wicks from drifting off centre and to avoid wax splash. This will help to maximise the candles burn time.

KEEP THE BURN POOL CLEAN -

If you get any black at the rim of the glass, simply wipe it away with a damp cloth. This may be a sign that your wick is too long.

LASTLY, ENJOY YOUR CANDLE!
